Tenby International to be built in Kota Kemuning

Tropicana Corporation Bhd has signed an agreement with Tenby Schools to develop a 4.1ha international school campus at its up-and-coming 349ha mixed township development of Tropicana Aman in Kota Kemuning, Selangor.

Under the agreement, the campus that Tropicana will build will have a built-up area of approximately 225,000 sq ft and can accommodate up to 1,800 students. The school is expected to have its first intake in September 2018, offering international student-oriented programmes for students aged from three to 18, including International Primary Curriculum, National Curriculum for England, IGCSEs and A-Level programmes.

The collaboration between Tropicana and Tenby Schools is expected to benefit the local community within Tropicana Aman, Kota Kemuning and Shah Alam by providing access to quality international education at affordable fees. Other townships in the vicinity of Tropicana Aman such as SP Setia and Eco World are expected to help drive enrolment for the school.

With five existing purpose-built campuses located throughout Malaysia and one more scheduled to be launched in 2016, the agreement represents Tenby’s eighth international school campus.

“The agreement marks the beginning of an enduring partnership between Tenby Schools and Tropicana which focuses on providing a holistic environment to learn, live and thrive as a community. This collaboration benefits the children within Tropicana Aman’s community as well as the community at large.” Tenby Schools chairman Mazhairul Jamaludin said.

The school’s executive director Datuk Lim Si Boon added: “Tenby Schools has been providing quality education for more than 50 years, and we are committed to moving forward in our plans to enhance the learning environment in all our schools by providing innovative learning tools and state-of-the-art technology for our students.

Tenby’s well-established staff development programme ensures excellence in international teaching standards for both the local and international curriculum.”

Tropicana said the collaboration reaffirmed its DNA of creating thriving townships that were strategic, well-connected and holistic in nature.

“The presence of Tenby Schools is set to elevate the Tropicana Aman development into a more vibrant and lively community through providing a holistic environment catered to nurturing growing communities,” it stated.

The Tenby venture marks Tropicana’s third venture into the education sector. In August last year, Tropicana entered into a strategic partnership with St Joseph International to build a school in Tropicana Golf & Country Resort, Petaling Jaya. In January this year, the developer entered into an agreement to build an international school with GEMS Education in Tropicana Metropark, Subang Jaya.

Located next to affluent neighbourhood of Kota Kemuning, Tropicana Aman is Tropicana’s latest development, as well as its first foray into Kota Kemuning. The self-contained, 863-acre mixed township development offers both commercial and residential components.

Tropicana Aman offers accessibility, connectivity, generous open spaces, security and quality. It boasts a 33.6ha central park rich in flora and fauna, and traversed by a 7km-long greenery trail for walking, jogging and cycling.

The township will also house a central community clubhouse with a sports centre and is connected to major highways like Lebuhraya Shah Alam (Kesas), the Federal Highway, Lebuhraya Kemuning Shah Alam (LKSA), Expressway Lingkaran Tengah (Elite), South Klang Valley Expressway (SKVE) and the upcoming West Coast Highway.

The first phase of this development will be launched soon. Interested purchasers who would like to be invited to the Tropicana Aman special preview are encouraged to register at www.tropicanaaman.com.my
